Start with airflow and temperature settings
Make sure the fridge is not packed tightly against the back wall and that vents inside the fresh-food section are not blocked. Set the fridge around 37 F and the freezer around 0 F, then give it several hours to stabilize.
Check the condenser coils
Dusty condenser coils make the compressor work harder and can cause weak cooling. If the coils are accessible, unplug the fridge and carefully vacuum dust away. If cooling does not improve, the issue may be a fan, sensor, sealed-system leak or control fault.
When to call a technician
Call for service if the freezer is cold but the fridge is warm, the compressor clicks repeatedly, ice builds up behind the rear panel, or the unit runs constantly. Appliance Trust repairs major refrigerator brands across Toronto and the GTA.
