Clean the filter first
Remove and rinse the dishwasher filter if your model allows it. Food debris can block water flow and make the machine smell. Reinstall the filter correctly before running another cycle.
Look for drain hose problems
A kinked or clogged drain hose can keep water in the tub. If the dishwasher was recently installed, the drain loop or knockout plug under the sink may also be the issue.
Pump or control issues
If the unit hums, stops mid-cycle or leaves water after cleaning the filter, the drain pump, check valve or control may need service. Appliance Trust repairs built-in and portable dishwashers across the GTA.
